As executive director of South County Senior Services, Dr. Marilyn Ditty leads a nonprofit public-benefit charitable organization that provides vital services to the elderly in South Orange County. She is best known for establishing an excellent model for community-based care for the elderly, which has served the 85,000 elderly in Orange County for the past 25 years.

Marilyn also serves as associate professor of public administration in the doctoral program at the University of La Verne and teaches courses in gerontology. In addition, she is associate professor of gerontology at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California.

A world-recognized expert in gerontology and advocate for senior citizens, Marilyn frequently serves as a consultant and speaker at national and international gatherings on aging. During her successful career, she has received numerous accolades for her dedication to improving the welfare of senior citizens.

After receiving her master's degree, Marilyn pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Southern California School of Gerontology in the late 1970s when the field of aging was in its pioneering stage. She received her doctorate in public administration from the University of La Verne.
