Deb Stock - YWCA USA - Washington, DC

Debra Stock brings to the Trust board a wealth of leadership experience in both the nonprofit and the private sectors. For the past eleven years she has been Chief Executive Officer of YWCA York (PA). She began her relationship with YWCA York in 1990, serving on the Board of Directors for eight years and later as Board President for one and a half years.

Deb successfully transitioned YWCA York’s struggling operation to a balanced budget with a vibrant staff that is making a strong impact in the community. Under her leadership the budget has grown from $1 million to $7 million, and the number of staff from 60 to 190, the number of locations from 1 to 13, and number of women and children served from 6,000 to over 22,000.

Prior to her career with YWCA, Deb spent 18 years in sales and management with a large privately owned insurance agency.

In 2008, York Newspaper Company named her as one of the most influential people in York County. In February 2010, she was awarded the Central Penn Business Journal's Nonprofit Innovation Award for Excellence in Leadership, and in 2011 she received the Athena Award from the York County Chamber of Commerce.

Deb has served on numerous committees and Boards. Currently she serves on the boards of York Hospital, Better York, Mid Atlantic Regional YWCA, and in 2009 was elected to serve as national Board Chair of YWCA USA.

"As a champion of nonprofits both locally and nationally, I realize that in this challenging economy, it is necessary for community service organizations to become even more creative in identifying cost-savings measures, such as the one the Trust provides. Such measures not only make organizations more fiscally efficient, but in today’s economy, can be necessary for survival."
