Daphne Logan - Feeding America - Chicago, IL

Daphne Logan brings to the Trust board a wealth of human resources experience in both the nonprofit and the private sectors.

Since 1997 she has led the Human Resources area for Feeding America, formerly America’s Second Harvest and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources in the national office located in Chicago. Through a network of more than 200 member food banks, Feeding America distributes over three billion pounds of food a year and feeds 37 million Americans. One in eight people rely on the services of the Feeding America network for food, including nine million children and three million seniors.

Prior to joining Feeding America, she was Human Resources Manager for the Teachers Academy of Mathematics and Science, a Chicago area nonprofit founded in 1990 to strengthen the mathematics and science skills of teachers thus improving student achievement.

During her eight years in the corporate world she served as an executive search consultant with Juan Menefee and Associates, assistant store manager (Human Resources) for Kohl’s Department Stores, and sales manager for Sears, Roebuck and Company.

Daphne graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from Northwestern University. She has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since 1997. Daphne earned the Certificate of Professional Achievement in Organizational Development from DePaul University and Certificate of Achievement "Creating a Culture of Innovation" from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
