Don't leave it to chance: follow procedures
May 2002Prompt handling is important as most documents will provide a specific time period for action (only 10 days on initial claim). So to ensure effective, timely and efficient claims processing follow these guidelines:
- Determine deadline for responding to forms/notices sent by the state agency
- Claims forms/Notices
- Charge statements
- Determinations/Decisions
- Hearing notices
- No more than four days
- Fax all claim/hearing forms/notices to GatesMcDonald claims team for completion or response.
- Phone your GatesMcDonald claims team to inform them of documents being
faxed that were received late from the state. Maile ext. 210 or Gretchen
ext. 214
- Five days or more
- Claims forms/notices: Fax separation information with any additional documents, warning notices, and comments to your GatesMcDonald claims team for completion.
- Hearing notices: Fax or call your GatesMcDonald claims team.
- Determinations/Decisions: Fax or call your Gates- McDonald claims team.
